View of the horseshoe-shaped bay of Agios Georgios,
looking due North, taken from the "donkey path" scaling the SE escarpment.
Angelos Apartments are situated approximately in the middle of the picture
where the beach runs out and the NW cliff takes over. The village of Afionas
can be seen on top of the hill (left of centre). The NW promontory ends at

Agios Georgios, North West
Corfu
Agios Georgios (AG) is situated in Northwest Corfu (see
map) and consists of three separate villages which occupy the sandy beach
along the bottom of the U of a remarkable and large horseshoe-shaped bay.
Both arms of the bay have high cliffs on either side.
Each part of AG is associated with different villages
which are
inland from the resort. The most prominent of these inland villages is Pagi
which administers the Northern/central part of AG where most of the hotels
and tavernas are situated. The name of AG Pagon is commonly used to name the
whole resort, something which is important to know, as rather confusingly
there is another AG in the south of the island! The part of AG where Angelos
is situated is administered by Afionas and is the least developed and
less busy than the other parts.
